Thermodynamics

•  Development of several specialized programmable incubators designed to maintain stable temperature to a micro titer plate regardless of number of wells and the door position

•  Calibration and use of Fluke NetDaq for capture of thermal probes produced data used to calculate statistics and display graphically for continuous air flow and insulation improvements

3D Centrifugal Pumping

•  Advanced Technologies research project funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to design fast, simple and portable bio-terror detection device using an on-CD, multi-level centrifugal pumping and filtration techniques combined with chemically produced sample movement through micro fluidic channels

•  Clean room work ranging from plasma cleaning to high-resolution UV etching of SU-8, AutoCAD high-resolution UV mask layout, chemical preparation of templates for PDMS forming, acrylic etching and fluidics channel preparation

Fluidics

•  Testing and validation of Next Generation CMOS sample cartridge to meet ISO 9000 standards by launch deadline, review and revision of verification protocols in cooperation with design team for Solidworks and AutoCAD drawings, QC for parts, and software for Perl data extraction, evaluation, and presentation

Optics

•  Testing, and validation of digital imaging systems for the Next Generation product, dark pixel subtraction, noise elimination, temperature stability, dark room work with multi-wavelength illumination and filters

•  FliGrab, and MaxIM DL software use for image collection, evaluation, statistics from Mat-Lab

Systems Administration

•  Worldwide helpdesk and PC software/hardware support with full IT duties and responsibilities: 24/7 server uptime and Firewall-1 connectivity; maintaining workstations and bio-chemical lab instrumentation PC or Mac systems operational
