Mission Statement
To reduce conflict and crisis in the lives of youth, adults and families in this community. This is accomplished through the provision of a comprehensive, cost-effective array of education, prevention, intervention, support and treatment services.
Founded in 1969 as Youth Help Association, YFA Connections continues to provide prevention, education, intervention, and treatment services for individuals and families in conflict or crisis.
These services are provided through our programs:
1.Youth Residential
CRS is for is for 13-17 year old males and females in conflict or crisis. It
provides temporary, emergency residence for high risk/runaway youth in conflict and
short-term (5 days) shelter & counseling 24-hours a day, 7 days per week. CRC focuses
on relieving crisis and restoring family ties; accessed through DSHS-FRS. To receive more

is for 13-17 year old males & females in conflict or crisis. It is a
free shelter & counseling service for runaway & homeless teens & their
families. Directions provide youth with short-term (14 days) shelter & counseling
24-hours a week, 7 days per week; direct program access. For more information please

is designed for 6-11 & 12-17 year old males & females in crisis and conflict. It
is a combination of two projects for a comprehensive service package providing youth with
extensive evaluation and intensive intervention service for successful, permanent
placement in a family setting. Ninety & 180 day stay possible. This center is located
in Spokane Valley and can be contacted at (509) 891-4760. 2.Family Preservation
is provided for Spokane area families in conflict or crisis. PHASE II
provides home based, short term counseling to families experiencing conflict. The
counselors work within the home, up to 15 hours in a 30-day period. This program is
accessed through DSHS-FRS. Please call (509) 532-2000 for

is focused on foster care receiving homes in need of support. FFSS
provides ongoing in-home support for foster care receiving homes. The Foster parents
receive FFSS services to troubleshoot, problem solve, and advocate for support. Please

schedule and to arrange service in clients home or at prearranged site. 3.Chemical dependency
STEPPS is for 18 years or older males & females with substance abuse problems, providing
outpatient services. STEPPS recognizes chemical dependency as a progressive disease and
provides a variety of treatment modalities to meet the specialized needs of each patient.

STOPP is for pregnant & parenting females with substance
problems. It provides chemical dependency services to substance abusing
pregnant, postpartum & parenting women.There are also services avilable for those
women who suffer from mental illness and chemical dependency. Services are individualized
and based on a client's specific need. Cost of these services is on PA/GAU/SSI/Sliding fee

The intimate partner violence program provides certified Domestic Violence
Perpetrator Treatment to males 18 and older who are either court ordered or voluntary
participants. Treatment groups meet during day time hours. For more information
